Scholarship Details
Requirements
Citizenship:
Applicants must be citizens of one of the eligible countries (Malaysia is included).
Age:
The minimum age is typically 18, with a preference for applicants under 40.
Academic Record:
A strong academic record is essential, with a GPA equivalent to New Zealand university entry requirements.
English Language Proficiency:
International students must demonstrate English language proficiency through tests like IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE. Generally, an overall IELTS score of 6.5 and no band less than 6.0
Work Experience:
Postgraduate applicants must have relevant work experience. Work experience can be paid, unpaid or voluntary, and must meet the following criteria:
One year of full-time work experience (i.e. 30 hours or more per week), OR
Two years of part-time work experience (i.e. up to 29 hours per week).
In selection, preference is given to applicants who demonstrate how their proposed course of study aligns to their current work experience. We prefer applicants who will continue working in their current job sector after they finish their scholarship.
Study Focus:
The proposed course of study must be a postgraduate degree and should align with the applicant's country's development needs.*
Leadership Potential and Residency Requirements:
Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to contributing to their home country's social or economic development for at least two years after completing their studies.
Scholars must also have been living in their home country for two years prior to applying for a scholarship.
Preference is given to applicants who clearly describe in their application how they will contribute towards their countryÕs social and economic development after their scholarship.
Full-Time Study:
The scholarship is for full-time, on-campus study in New Zealand.
Specific Course Requirements:
Applications should explain how the chosen courses relate to development priorities and how the acquired knowledge and skills will benefit the applicant's country.
