The University of Huddersfield is a gold-rated university in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), delivering consistently outstanding teaching and learning of the highest quality found in the UK (TEF, 2017). The University of Huddersfield also won the first Global Teaching Excellence Award recognising the University's commitment to world-class teaching and its success in developing students as independent learners and critical thinkers (Higher Education Academy, 2017). At University of Huddersfield, students will be taught by some of the best lecturers in the country. The University is joint first in England to achieve recognition as having the highest proportion of professionally-qualified teaching staff (HESA – first awarded in 2016, maintained in 2017-2020). There are over 18,000 students from over 130 countries on campus. QS Stars have given the University of Huddersfield five stars for Internationalisation. University of Huddersfield is in the centre of Huddersfield town, which is in a great central location in the UK. Huddersfield town is around three and a half hours north of London by car. Leeds City is twenty minutes away by train and Manchester City is only half an hour away. The nearest international airport is Manchester International Airport. It can be reached by car or train within an hour. Huddersfield is also proud to be a part of England's friendliest county.

Most of the courses that University of Huddersfield offer have an optional placement year. Placement year allows students to gain valuable experience from the industry. As a student in University of Huddersfield, one will benefit from a combination of academic skills and the development of relevant employability skills which prepare for the real world of work. About 2,000 students go on work placements every year. In addition, the University of Huddersfield also have an impressive record of graduate employment, with 94% of undergraduates and 93% of postgraduates in work or further study six months after graduating.
