Why New Zealand?
New Zealand is a safe country located in the southern hemisphere and has 3 official languages, which are English, Maori and New Zealand Sign Language. New Zealand is ranked second as one of the most peaceful countries in the world. New Zealand is also known as one of the least corrupt countries in the world. Despite having only a population of 4.9 million, New Zealand is a melting pot of different cultures and beliefs.
New Zealand is a haven for adrenaline seekers due to its unique geographical layout. Every part of New Zealand has its own unique beauty. Besides that, the lifestyle in New Zealand is laid back, hence the students studying in New Zealand will have a balanced study-leisure lifestyle. New Zealand’s universities provide plenty of support for international students to help them adapt well to the country.
Sharing the spirit of the Maori principle of manaakitanga, New Zealanders are all about respect and understanding, so international students will be provided with a warm welcome. It is no secret that New Zealanders are very friendly, warm and helpful.
International students are also allowed to work for up to 20 hours a week during semesters and full-time during public holidays and semester breaks. However, postgraduate students doing full research (PhDs) including master (MPhil/MRes) are allowed to work full-time, enabling students to support themselves during their studies.
